HSG Foundation
Committed to the future of the University of St. Gallen (HSG).
Objectives and Impact
Our world is changing faster than ever before: technological change, the climate crisis and global competition present immense challenges for younger generations and for research. Together, we are committed to preparing students at the University of St. Gallen for precisely this complex and uncertain future. To equip them with the necessary skills and ways of thinking, we promote sustainable ideas and experimental learning formats that enable them to tackle complex problems, develop new solutions and find their feet in a dynamic world of work.

Many thanks to our donors and funding partners
The HSG Foundation would like to extend its warmest thanks to its donors and funding partners for their generous support. They play a crucial role in enabling the University of St. Gallen to provide its students with the best possible support and to carry out forward-looking projects. Your help creates opportunities: without your commitment, important scholarships, research initiatives and innovative teaching formats would often not be possible. Become part of this success story and play an active role in shaping the future of the HSG. Thank you for making a difference with us.
What has happened so far
The HSG Foundation has been in existence since 2001. It was established as the HSG Alumni Foundation with the aim of promoting teaching and research both at home and abroad. Whilst the name and the foundation’s purpose have been refined in detail over the years, one thing has remained unchanged: the commitment to continually support the University of St. Gallen in its ongoing development.
Projects for the future
The Impact Report provides a detailed insight into how the HSG Foundation uses its funds and the progress of its projects. Find out how your donations and contributions are being put to good use to ensure the HSG’s long-term development.
Why does the University of St. Gallen need funding?
Throughout the University of St. Gallen’s history, spanning more than a century, donations from third parties have been crucial in initiating and implementing forward-looking projects at the HSG. Funding from third parties is an important supplement to existing basic public funding. It enables the realisation of additional research projects, student support schemes and infrastructure projects.
Will I be mentioned by name as a donor or supporting partner?
We would like to thank all our donors and funding partners and, as a mark of our appreciation, mention them by name on our website, in the Impact Report and, where appropriate, on other channels. If you wish to remain anonymous, we will of course respect your wishes.
How can I be sure that my funding is being used effectively?
The HSG Foundation sees itself as a ‘trustee’ of the funds entrusted to it, which it utilises on behalf of the University of St. Gallen, guided by the principles of diligence, quality and impact.
