Bequests make a difference

The impact that can be achieved through bequests, inheritances and donations to charitable organisations is of inestimable value to the economy and society. Support for the University of St.Gallen, and thus for Switzerland’s educational landscape, is invaluable for generations of future students.

In 2024, an estimated 95 billion Swiss francs were bequeathed in Switzerland. Of this, only around 0.3 per cent – that is, around 285 million Swiss francs – went to charitable organisations. According to an analysis of 17,000 anonymised will templates from the provider ‘Dein Adieu’, around 10 % of Swiss people include a non-governmental organisation (NGO) in their will.

Your bequest to the HSG

What we wish to leave behind and whom we wish to name as beneficiaries in our will is a personal matter. People’s motivations and wishes are individual and varied. Let’s talk about it.
